Vintage 70s Mid Century minimalist West German ceramic vase by designer Heinz H. Engler for KWH.
Heinz H. Engler (1928 – 1986) was a German designer. In the early 1960s, Engler designed the most famous system tableware in the catering industry: the „System B1100”. It has been manufactured by the porcelain factory Gebr. 1952–63 he ran the Upper Swabian pottery workshop together with his future wife Margarethe Frauer. After working as a designer for the ceramics company Arabia in Helsinki from 1956 to 1957, he opened his own studio for model development in Biberach. From 1958 to 1968 he developed hollow glass designs for the Wiesenthalhütte. In 1967 he was appointed to the chair for ceramic product design at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. From 1972 he worked both as chief designer of the porcelain factory Gebr.
